Iran’s second petroleum museum will be launched before the end of current Iranian calendar year on 21st March 2018.
Director of the Petroleum Museums And Documents Center, Abkar Nematollahi, made the remarks, adding Darvazeh Dowlat gas station, in Tehran downtown, has been considered as the venue for establishing the second petroleum museum.
Darwazeh Dowlat gas station or gas station number 6, located on the corner of Saadi Street in Tehran, is one of the oldest gas stations in the capital, which was built by Anglo-Persian Oil Company during the reign of the founder of Pahlavi dynasty, Reza Shah.  
According to Nematollahi, the gas station as one of the most important oil industry heritages in the capital is very important in terms of cultural, social and economic values.
Director of petroleum museums went on to say that the gas station ownership has been transferred from municipality to the Petroleum Museums And Documents Center and as the first step the center has started its reparation in order to change it into a petroleum museum.
Darwazeh Dowlat gas station restoration will be carried out in two phases and includes special arrangements for closed, half-closed and open spaces, identification and purchasing some objects and preparing captions for them, designing the gas station’s space with lighting and objects, restoration and reinforcing the damaged structure especially the metal sunshade of the refueling platform, restoration and fixing of the seven-colored mosaic tiles of the structure and finally removing the exterior of the nearby subway station’s fans.
Iran’s first petroleum museum was inaugurated January this year in the southwestern city of Abadan.
The museum was established at Iran's oldest gas station in Abadan in 1927.
Iranian petroleum ministry also plans to open other petroleum museums in four other locations in Abadan including at the technical-vocational school, Abadan historical jetty, power plant number 1 and luxury houses.
