The number of oil industry registered historical sites rose to 103 and will exceed 120 cases after registration of new ones in the near future.
The registered sites are mainly located in Kermanshah, Tehran, Mazandaran, West Azerbaijan and Khuzestan provinces, of which 92 sites are situated in Abadan city in Khuzestan province.  
An old oil refinery, the historical jetty, technical-vocational school, an oil industry exclusive cinema and the luxuries houses are among the registered oil industry sites in Abadan.  
In Masjed Soleyman city, also in Khuzestan province, where oil discovered for the first time in Iran in 1908, the Well No.1, Tombi Power Plant, Distillation Plant and Si Brenj Oil Streams are in the final stage of registration.
A tin factory in Kermanshah, an old gas station in Darvazeh Dowlat district of Tehran, an oil Karavansary in Uromieh the capital of West Azerbaijan province, an inn in Babolsar in Mazandaran province, the British Consulate in Kerman are the other structures have been registered as oil industry historical sites.
