TEHRAN (IPM) -- The Museum of Darvazeh Dowlat Gas Station will be officially launched in a ceremony due on June 22 in the presence of Tehran Mayor Pirouz Hanachi, the director of Oil Industry Museums and Archives Center of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum said.

Akbar Nematollahi said the opening ceremony of the third museum of the Oil Industry Museums Scheme would also see the attendance of a group of senior oil industry executives, Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization officials, Tehran Municipality executives and staff, as well as petroleum industry retirees and veterans.

He said the gas station was the third one launched in Tehran and was one of the few remaining ones of the first generaion of gas stations in Iran.

The services, built back in the 30s, was registered in the national list of histrocal places of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization.

According to Nematollahi, introduction of the history of fuel distribution stations in the country, displaying relics and articles belonging to the cycle of petroleum products’ distribution, the manner of loading, transportation and discharge of fuel at the supply sites, etc. are among the goals considered in launching the museum.

It is worth noting that Darvazeh Dowlat Gas Station is being launched in Tehran, the Iranian capital, after the museums of Petrol Station and Abadan Oil Industry Trainees in Abadan, southwest Iran.
