The managing director of the Museums and Documents Center of the Oil Industry fulfilled his promise to present two historical objects of Iranian oil in the form of a mollage to the Iran's Secretariat of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC); these objects will be presented to the OPEC secretariat soon.
 
According to the report of the public relations of the management of the Museums and Documents Center of the Oil Industry, today (Saturday, ordibehesht 30/May 20) during the presentation ceremony of the mollages of bituminous containers of the National Museum of Iran to be donated to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on the sidelines of the oil exhibition, Hossein Shameli said: Iran is the only member country of OPEC, to have 9 active museums in the oil industry, 11 million pages of historical documents, 9 thousand objects related to the oil industry, and 10 volumes of books in the oral history of the oil.
 
He stated that we hope that other OPEC members will follow the example of Iran in collecting their historical documents about their oil industry, and clarified: It has been decided that the oral history of OPEC should be prepared and developed with the cooperation of the OPEC affairs management, and the relationships with the Energy Assemblies of the Ministry of Oil and the museums and documents center of the oil industry. It will be focused on Iran's presence in this organization for more than 60 years.
 
The head of the management of the Museums and Documents Center of the Oil Industry, expressed hope that with the actions taken by this management, a lasting legacy of the activities of the Iranian oil industry will be remembered for future generations and historians.
 
Hossein Shameli, during the meeting he had with Haitham Al-Ghis, the Secretary General of OPEC in Bahman/February last year (1401/2023) and on the sidelines of the Indian Energy Week, promised to present two historical objects of Iranian oil, which have been realized with the joint cooperation of the management of the Museums and Documents Center of the Oil Industry, OPEC affairs and relations with the energy assemblies of the Ministry of Oil, the National Museum of Iran and Iran’s international Committee of Museums (ICOM).
 
The objects presented by Iran to the Secretariat of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) are more than 5 thousand years old.
 
The 27th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition with the slogan "Oil Industry; Technological production and optimal consumption" started (Wednesday, ordibehesht 27/May 17) and will end on Saturday (ordibehesht 30/ May 20).
