The management of the documents center and museums of the oil industry is one of the important and strategic parts for the oil industry, which has made a significant contribution to the preservation of documents, equipment and historical monuments in recent years. According to its mission, this center has carried out numerous measures regarding the preservation of the heritage of the predecessors and the historical and lateral position of the oil industry. Director of the Museums and Documents Center of the Oil Industry explained the most important of these measures in an interview with Mash’al weekly gazette.
 
In this interview, Hossein Shameli, recalling that the 7th Oil Industry Museum was recently opened in Mahmood Ābād (Mazandaran province), said why this place was chosen for the establishment of the museum: this complex annually hosts a large number of oil industry employees and their families, so the establishment of This museum is an opportunity for the big family of the oil industry to get to know the relics of the past and the turbulent history of the oil industry that has been going on for 115 years.
 
He stated that in Mahmood Ābād Oil Industry Heritage Museum, documents in eight sections have been put to show: exploration, historical oil concessions, social assistance of the National Iranian Oil Company, Iran- Iraq war, personnel documents of Abadan workers, Abadan employees, ownership documents of oil museums and documents of oil establishments registered in the list of national heritage. He added: Also, in this museum, the German group's exploratory excavation report in the area of Khesht sar village of Mahmood Ābād in 1315 has been displayed for the first time.
 
Trying to inject hope by implementing 11 plans
 
The Director of the Museums and Documents Center of the Oil Industry pointed out that the working group of the oil industry museums project was formed in Dey of 1392/December of 2013 and despite some ups and downs, has accomplished great achievements during these years. He named these the achievement of this management during these years as follows: Tehran Darwazeh Dowlat Museum, Abadan Gas Station, Abadan vocational school, Sabzevār distribution Industry, Masjid Suleiman Well No. 1, Kerman Oil Burners, Mahmoodabad Oil Industry Heritage Museum and Tehran Oil Industry Heritage Permanent Exhibition.
 
Shameli also stated about the future plan of this management for the establishment of museums and permanent exhibitions: Currently, this management is implementing and following up 11 projects in the cities of Masjid Suleiman, Khark, Abadan, Ahvaz, Mashhad and Kermanshah.
 
When asked about the current number of documents and historical objects kept in the management complex of the Oil Industry Museums and Document Center He answered: 11 million sheets of oil industry papers and documents and about 9 thousand historical objects are maintained in the museums and storages under the management of the museums and Documents Center of the Oil industry, hoping that oil treasures and documents will help preserve the legacy of the oil industry and pass it on to future generations.
 
Registration of 114 oil artifacts in the list of national heritage
 
 When asked about how many oil sites have been registered in the list of national heritage, the Director of the Museums and Documents Center of the oil industry said: Currently, there are about 114 oil sites, including the Kerman consulate building, Masjid Suleiman airport, Tehran corporate site No. 6, ceremonial houses No. 18 and 19 (Brim), Gachsārān Oil Employees Club, Masjid Suleiman  Well No. 1, etc. Have been registered in the list of national heritage, and efforts to increase the the number of registred historical monuments in the list of national heritage by this administration are still ongoing.
 
Regarding compiling the oral history of Iran's oil, Shameli also pointed out that oral history is one of the departments of the management of Museums and documents Center of the oil Industry, and that good work has been done in this field, and stated: The oral history department of this management has so far conducted interviews with veterans and The former ministers of oil, including Ali Akbar Moinfar, Seyed Mohammad Gharazi, Seyed Hassan Sādāt, etc., have published these interviews and are available to researchers and those interested. Of course, the dialogue with the veterans continues in different departments, and will be publish  soon after the historical reconciliation.
 
He announced the negotiation with the Basij Organization of the Ministry of Oil for the historical comparison of the documents available in the oil industry documents center and museums with the documents of Iran-Iraq war (sacred defense) in order to compile a complete collection for the use of researchers in this field. Also about the digitization of the documents he added: "right Now, every day about 500 documents are scanned and classified in the digital bank of oil industry documents.
 
Cooperation with international organizations; From the signing of the memorandum to the donation of the object
 
The Director of the Museums and the documents Center of the Oil Industry explained about the cooperation and interaction of this administration with the museums and centers of the oil industry in the region and the world: good measures have been taken in this field; As an example, recently (on the sidelines of the 27th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition in Ordibehesht/May), following the interaction with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), two Molages with original age of 3 to 4 thousand years have been donated to that organization; According to the research, among OPEC member countries, Iran is the only country that manages the documents center and museums of the oil industry.
 
Shameli continued: Another step taken by this administration in the field of cooperation with international organizations was the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Fisogni Museum in Italy to expand cooperation and cultural exchange. In the course of this memorandum, it was decided that 12 documents and 15 objects and a total of 27 documents and objects would be donated from the management of Fisogni museum in Italy to the management of the Museums and Documents Center of the oil industry.
 
Emphasizing that since the discovery of oil in the country, the oil industry has always been a leader in various sectors and the foundation it laid has continued to this day, he reiterated: now, the Ministry of Oil is the only organization and industrial complex in the country that seriously pursues the preservation of industrial heritage and is a leader in this field.
