Vice president and head of Iranian cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organization (ICHTO), Zahra Ahmadi, visited the Museum of Abadan Gas Station.

Visiting the museum along with a number of high-ranking provincial officials, Zahra Ahmadi praised petroleum ministry move for setting up the museum emphasizing on the necessity of cooperation between ICHTO and Petroleum Museum. 

The vice president further said: establishment of these specialized museums is very useful in view of presenting Iran’s oil industry history.

As the first petroleum industry museum, museum of Abadan gas station was opened on 18 January in the presence of a number of petroleum ministry officials and local authorities.

The museum has put in display different oil industry equipment in its open-air space including different kinds of old gasoline pumps, a vehicle filling its fuel tank, a small room for gas station attendants, a restored oil distribution branch, riveted oil products containers, oil tanker trucks, components of gasoline pumps, kerosene lamps and stoves, oil products distribution historical documents including newspapers, advertisements, kerosene, gasoline, gasoil coupons, notes, stamps and oil industry cultural products.
